Rondy M. Smith joined the pastoral staff team at Hermitage Church of the Nazarene in July 2001, after serving on the faculty of Trevecca Nazarene University for 12 years.  She has also served the corporate world at Northern Telecom, Inc., Executive Learning, Inc., and as management consultant to a host of clients from Fortune 500 to non-profit organizations.  Rondy holds a bachelor’s degree from Trevecca Nazarene University, a Master’s degree from the University of Kansas, and a doctorate in Human and Organization Development from Peabody College of Vanderbilt University.
 
Rondy’s primary responsibility as Community Life Pastor is Connection Ministries for Adults:  Group Life (iBelong), Discipleship (iGrow), and Ministry & Mission (iServe).  She is an ordained elder in the Church of the Nazarene and shares the pastoral ministries of teaching/preaching/counseling at HCN as well.
 
In addition to the local church, Rondy serves the District and Global Church of the Nazarene in the following ways:  Chair, USA/Canada Nazarene Women Clergy Council; Member, General Women’s Ministries Council;  Member, General Christian Action Committee;  Member, Tennessee District Ministry Board of Studies & Credentials, and Teacher in the TN School of Ministry modular course of study program.  She also serves on the Council for Come to the Fire/Women Alive Ministries.  She is a frequent conference & retreat speaker and consultant to faith-based organizations, and is a certified Strengths Coach through the Gallup Organization.
 
Rondy and her husband, Bobby, have two sons, Daniel, a senior at Trevecca Nazarene University, and Kyle, a senior at Mt. Juliet High School.  She enjoys travel, reading, eating her husband’s gourmet cooking, and participating in all her boys’ activities.  Rondy counts it a great blessing and privilege to serve such an awesome God in such an awesome church.
